Community Plan Amendment Information
Thanks to everyone who came out this evening for our in-person Community Plan amendment presentation about John Hagar (at Earhart), Stewarts Ferry, and Old Hickory Boulevard. If you’d like some context on this process you can review the recording of the virtual meeting held on 3/20/23 by visiting this link: YouTube Video.
Metro Planner Cory Clark (cory.clark@nashville.gov) referenced some information I wanted to make sure you all had access to in one place. As a reminder, these community plan amendments are currently on the May 25th Metro Planning Commission agenda, and your feedback is very important with this process.
Metro Planning is guided by a foundation plan called “NashvilleNext”. The Community Character Manual sets the specific policies for the “transect categories” in seven different classifications - ranging from “untouched natural land” to “intense urban centers.”
Currently, John Hagar Road at Earhart has parcels that are identified as T3 Suburban with a Neighborhood Center (p.21) designation. The goal of this amendment would be to transition this area to a T3 Suburban Neighborhood Evolving (p.15) designation.
Stewarts Ferry and Old Hickory Boulevard both have a T3 Suburban Neighborhood Evolving designation. The goal would be to change these areas to T2 Rural Maintenance.
